Chimney Caps
Important reasons to install a chimney cap are:
1. Moisture: Chimney caps keep moisture from coming down into your home. Rain water can cause severe damage to chimneys with steel liners, chimney dampers and mortar joints. Water from rain can also produce mildew and mold.
2. Animals:Animals like birds, raccoon's and squirrels often try to make their homes within chimneys. In many cases, these critters will enter the chimney but won’t be able to exit, eventually dying. This can produce maggots, flies and unpleasant odors in your home. A professionally installed chimney cap, sized properly, will prevent animals from entering the chimney.
3. Downdraft: If the wind is blowing in a certain direction, it can introduce a downdraft. If you don’t have a chimney cap and you’re using a wood-burning fireplace at the time, a wind-induced downdraft has the potential of blowing smoke back into your home. The flat-shaped top of a chimney cap is designed to help prevent wind-induced downdrafts.
4. Sparks and Embers: Some people refer to chimney caps as spark arrestors, which basically means that the chimney cap helps prevent lit embers or sparks that travel up the chimney from landing on roof, possibly catching it on fire.
5. Debris Build-up: Leaves, branches, twigs and other debris can enter a chimney and build up if a chimney cap is not in place.

Custom Masonry Caps
Our galvanized masonry caps are custom built for each individual job. They are powder coated black, not painted, and are guaranteed for 5 years not to rust. We install caps that just cover the flue line or caps that cover the entire top of the chimney. Price range varies per job.
prefabricated Hoods (pans) and shrouds
Just like our masonry caps, we install new pans and shrouds that have rusted away. They are custom built and powder coated black. Pricing varies per job so schedule an appointment for us to come out and take a look.
Crown Repair
Cracked crowns on masonry fireplaces can cause unwanted moisture to enter your home and heating until, which can cause severe damage to your chimney. Call for a quote on cracked crowns and other masonry repairs.
Waterproofing
Chimney Saver was the first waterproofing product developed specifically for chimneys. It’s been successfully used by chimney professionals for over 20 years. It reduces water penetration into the masonry by over 99.9% according to ASTM tests conducted at the University of Wyoming. It’s 100% vapor permeable so it won’t trap moisture in the chimney. It lets moisture wick to the outside.
Water-based Chimney Saver is VOC compliant and is the most popular formula. However, if a water repellent has previously been applied to the masonry, we recommend the solvent-based formula or the VOC Compliant Solvent-Based ChimneySaver. ChimneySaver Water-Base for Block Chimneys is specially formulated to bond with the minerals in block and CMU’s (concrete masonry units). ChimneySaver Water-Base with Stainblocker forms an invisible barrier that blocks the return of stains yet doesn’t change the appearance of the surface.

Cracked Fireplace Panels
Cracked fireplace panels in prefabricated units are a fire hazard and should be replaced when the cracks reach the width of a dime, or sooner. We would be happy to come out and take a look to see if your panels need replaced.
